Metsolar to Present Advanced BIPV Material Innovations at the SOL(AR)CHITECTURE Technical Webinar

Metsolar continues to expand its presence in Europe’s solar innovation landscape and will participate in the international, free SOL(AR)CHITECTURE Technical Webinar on December 3, 2025. This webinar is part of a broader knowledge-sharing series dedicated to cutting-edge materials and technologies shaping the future of Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).

The upcoming session, “Material Revolution: Materials that change the rules of the game,” will bring together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss how new photovoltaic materials are influencing the design, efficiency and durability of solar-integrated building components. The episode will focus on material science advancements that are redefining the architectural integration of solar technologies.

Metsolar’s Contribution

During this webinar, Algirdas Baležentis, Head of R&D at Metsolar, will deliver a technically focused presentation examining advanced photovoltaic materials and their implementation within next-generation BIPV module structures. His talk will explore:

  • material-driven improvements in optical, mechanical and electrical performance;
  • engineering principles behind glass/glass, glass/backsheet and PV IGU configurations;
  • transparency–efficiency optimization for façade and skylight applications;
  • challenges and opportunities in integrating solar materials into modern architectural envelopes.

The presentation will also highlight Metsolar’s ongoing innovations in customized BIPV modules and material technologies developed in Lithuania — including applications aimed at façades, roofing, skylights and insulated glass units — reinforcing the company’s role as one of the most flexible and innovation-driven PV manufacturers in Europe.

Strengthening Europe’s Solar Future

By participating in the SOL(AR)CHITECTURE series, Metsolar strengthens its commitment to advancing BIPV technologies at the European level. The company continues to contribute to the development of high-performance photovoltaic materials and demonstrates Lithuania’s growing engineering and innovation potential on the global stage.
