Layers
Glass / backsheet module layers
Backsheet technology modules have few advantages over glass-glass type of modules. Advantages include more power generation (bifacial cell solar modules), glass / backsheet modules are lighter, therefore it is easier to transport them, also installation cost of such modules are lower. Yet another advantage is that limiting glass usage, limits the possibility for potential induced degradation (PID). So especially when comparing bifacial modules with transparent backsheet to glass/glass solar modules, the ones using backsheets reduce PID possibility by half over glass PV models.
