METSOLAR at ABS 2026 | BIPV Projects in Switzerland

Two days of industry connections in Bern, four project visits and a closer look at Malley Phare in Lausanne.

What a rewarding few days in Switzerland!

On 3–4 November 2026, the METSOLAR team participated in the 21st Advanced Building Skins Conference & Expo in Bern, Switzerland.

The event brought together professionals from architecture, engineering, research and the building industry to explore innovative building envelope technologies, sustainable design and the future of building-integrated solar solutions.

For METSOLAR, it was an opportunity to reconnect with existing partners, meet new industry professionals and share our experience in developing custom Building-Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) solutions.

Great Conversations and New Connections at ABS 2026

Two days at the conference were filled with conversations about architecture, photovoltaic integration and the possibilities of custom-designed solar solutions.

We were pleased to present our BIPV capabilities, including our Skin+ façade system, and exchange ideas with professionals working on innovative building projects.

Meeting familiar faces and making new connections reminded us how valuable face-to-face conversations are in an industry where every project brings different requirements and challenges.

Four Buildings, Four Different Architectural Stories

One of the most memorable parts of our journey happened beyond the conference venue.

During our trip through Switzerland, we had the opportunity to visit four newly installed buildings featuring BIPV solutions manufactured by METSOLAR.

Seeing these solutions in their architectural surroundings was particularly rewarding.

Each building represents a different design approach and its own technical challenges. Together, they demonstrate how custom photovoltaic modules can become part of architectural projects.

For our team, these visits were an opportunity to see the results of our manufacturing work in real environments.

Malley Phare in Lausanne: A Project Taking Shape

Among the projects we visited, Malley Phare in Lausanne was especially exciting.

As one of METSOLAR’s most complex BIPV projects in Switzerland, it represents an important example of the company’s work with customised solar solutions.

Seeing the project take shape was a meaningful moment for our team and another reminder of how photovoltaic technologies can contribute to contemporary architecture.

Looking Ahead with Fresh Inspiration

Our journey to Switzerland brought together two important sides of our work: connecting with people who are shaping the future of building design and seeing our manufactured solutions become part of real buildings.

We would like to thank everyone we met at ABS 2026 for the valuable conversations, shared ideas and interest in our solutions.

We return with new connections, fresh inspiration and enthusiasm for the opportunities ahead.
