Metsolar Joins the 2nd EMPOWER Horizon Europe General Assembly in Chambéry, France

Over the past two days, Metsolar participated in the 2nd General Assembly of the EMPOWER Horizon Europe project, held in Chambéry, France and hosted at the CEA INES research facilities, one of Europe’s leading centers for photovoltaic research and development.
The assembly brought together a diverse consortium of research organizations, industrial partners, and technology developers, creating a valuable forum to exchange expertise and align efforts aimed at strengthening Europe’s photovoltaic manufacturing ecosystem. Such collaboration is essential as the industry works to scale production, improve resilience, and reduce dependency on non-European supply chains.
The program featured open discussions and hands-on workshops focused on the most pressing challenges facing the PV sector today. Core topics included manufacturing efficiency improvements, cost reduction strategies, and the deployment of Industry 4.0 solutions across the entire photovoltaic value chain. Particular attention was given to digitalization, automation, process optimization, and quality assurance as key drivers for competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
As an EU-based manufacturer, Metsolar values the opportunity to contribute practical manufacturing insight to the EMPOWER project. Participation in initiatives like EMPOWER enables close cooperation between research and industry, helping translate innovation into scalable, market-ready solutions that support Europe’s clean energy transition.
We are proud to be part of this collaborative effort and to contribute to a stronger, more competitive, and technologically advanced future for solar energy in Europe. We thank the organizers and all project partners for the productive exchanges and effective coordination.
